Leo Politi, who often used students at the Castelar Elementary School in his paintings, was asked to paint a mural at the school. After submitting the design to a committee of parents and teachers for approval, he executed the mural without pay on a wall by the school's main entrance. The mural depicts two boys and three girls, holding hands and dancing around in a circle. Like his other paintings, book illustrations and his mural "Blessing of the Animals" at El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historical Monument, the children convey a gentle simplicity and innocence.
