Edgar Walters (1877 - 1938) was born in San Francisco. After studying with Douglas Tilden at the San Francisco School of Design, Walters exhibited his work in Paris, the San Francisco Museum of Art, and the Metropolitan Museum in New York. His architectural sculpture is on the faŤade of the War Memorial Opera House in San Francisco, and he designed the Seligman Fountain (Bear and Faun Fountain) in Morningside Park in New York City.
