Tony Sheets (1942 - ), son of noted artist Millard Sheets, was born in Upland and apprenticed with Albert Stewart and Tom Van Sant. As a public artist, Sheets has painted murals as well as executed works in concrete, cast stone and bronze. Other pieces of his in downtown can be seen at the World Trade Center, the Los Angeles Times Garage at 213 South Spring Street and on the Broadway-Spring Center at 333 South Spring Street. Sheets' gallery work is primarily in watercolor. He also conducts painting workshops in many parts of the world.
