Yellow Building

Roger Herman, 1987. Luskin conference center, UCLA. Oil on canvas.

Text from the description: As a painter, Roger Herman often works with found compositions. Here, the building is captured as a motive enabling Herman to explore many painterly issues and forms. Some of the issues that Herman is most interested in exploring are: abstraction versus figuration, repetition and variation, and expression versus structure. Roger Herman is a current professor of painting and drawing with the UCLA Department of Art.
