Building a Structure that can Barely Support its Own Weight

Avram Kahn, 2017. Ink Transfer and Gouache on Xerox-printed Paper Mounted on Cardboard and Custom-built Steel Frame. Luskin conference center, UCLA.

Text from the description: This work presents questions around images, pictures, design, and anti-architecture. Stripping an image of its content and cultural weight, what remains is a formal structure with represented pictures. No picture strives to hold more weight than the one it rests beside. Inherently a democratized logic is taken on to the organization of the work. Kahn, a UCLA undergraduate, expects to graduate in 2018.
